The Financial Planning Journey

Whether we’re aware of it or not, all of us are on a financial planning journey and nearly all of us will want to make the most of our money where we can. Keeping a watchful eye on our financial resilience is something we should all be doing on a regular basis, rather than something we only think about in times of stress. Whether it’s a change in our circumstances, starting to save for or to take retirement or investing to provide for life events, financial planning can help everyone across all stages of their lives.

It’s hard to plan objectively for ourselves as our financial decisions are often driven by emotion. We might worry that we’re not making the right choices for our family or feel nervous about making choices we’re not confident about. You can search for products online, but how do you know which ones will provide the best solution for you?

A good financial adviser will get to know you, your circumstances and what you’d like to achieve in terms of your financial goals. Over time, they’ll be there for you as a trusted partner whose expertise and objectivity you can rely on.

Proud of Our Chartered Status

We’re proud to have been awarded the prestigious title ‘Chartered Financial Planners’ by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).

This title is only awarded to firms committed to developing and maintaining the knowledge and capability of their people so they can deliver the highest quality advice.

Chartered firms must also follow a demanding code of ethical practice. This means they must work in a principled manner that places clients’ interests at the heart of the advice they give.

Chartered status – granted by the Privy Council – is the industry’s gold standard for financial planners.

Who we help

We have more than 30 years of experience in advising medical professionals but we are pleased to work with all who are looking for a financial planner to work with them to develop and implement a strategy to achieve their financial goals.

Some situations in particular will move people to seek out our services:

Planning toward retirement

A person makes notes in a notebook

Mapping a route to retirement is a challenge. How much will you need to commit to funding your retirement during your career? Should you use pension arrangements, Individual Savings Accounts (ISAs) or other investments to build up a retirement pot?

These are among the many questions we can help you answer as part of our Financial Planning service. We will help you assess your current retirement provision alongside your retirement goals. If there are gaps, we can help you construct a plan to put your retirement strategy on target.

Using cashflow modelling and a detailed analysis of your aims and circumstances, we will help you understand what level of income you might need in retirement and how to achieve it. Regularly reviewing the progress of your plan as you progress toward retirement will help you keep things on track.

Planning at retirement

A person looks at a compass

In recent years, the choices and options available to those reaching retirement have increased dramatically. Many options offer advantages to those looking to access their pension benefits - but there are also pitfalls.

Not paying too much tax, releasing funds when you need them and perhaps most importantly, not running out of money before you die are all considerations. The more varied and complex the options become, the greater the need for knowledgeable advice.

We can help you plan your retirement income using cashflow modelling to show what is likely to happen to your income over time and help to choose the right option for you. Thereafter we will continue to work with you throughout your retirement to maintain your plan and make sure that it continues to meet your needs and adapt to changing legislation.

Wealth & Inheritance Planning

A person puts a piece in a jigsaw puzzle

Depending on our circumstances and time of life, accumulating, preserving, managing or passing on our wealth may be important to us. That's why our financial planning service always starts with getting to know you, your circumstances and your goals. We then help you build a financial plan to achieve those goals.

Maximising tax-efficiency and tailoring your financial plan to your needs are key to what we do. Understanding your feelings about investment risk and helping you to understand how risks impact your financial plan will help you to feel reassured that your money is working to meet your goals. Helping you plan to pass your money on tax-efficiently while retaining funds you need for your own security is another important strand to our service.

Having designed and built a plan to manage your wealth we can continue to work with you to regularly review your plan and keep it on track.
